Describe your collection

Collections comprise fiction and non-fiction, books, talking books, videos, dvds, magazines, databases, websites and ebooks for children, young adult and adults. Items are loanable with the exception of current magazines, newspapers and the reference collection.
 

What technologies do you use?

Our library catalogue uses Sirsi-Dynix’s Unicorn system as a member of the Swift consortia ( 10 Victorian public library services). We have 2 blogs – “Invisible Ink” which is a what’s going on behind the scenes blog and a local history blog: “Casey Cardinia – links to our past”.
We also have wi-fi in 5 branches and public internet in all branches including the mobile library.
 

What’s unique about your collection?

We have a high quality information and recreational collection in a range of media that is current, relevant and responsive to the community – most items are less than 5 years old.
 

Who are your clients/patrons?

Mainly local residents in the City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia

 

Do you have archival material?

We hold archival material from both the City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia, as well as other local history material.
 

What services do you provide?

Free membership, storytimes, reading clubs for children, book chats for adults, seminars for lifelong learning, internet assistance for adults, school holiday programs, author events etc
