What technologies do you use?
Library catalogue enables users to reserve items, renew loans, join the library, place reviews on records, book public PCs, request new items. Our website enables the public to book for activities online, request a meeting room booking and access all our subscription databases. We are currently setting up a blog and exploring other Web 2.0 options.

Local history of the former cities of Camberwell, Hawthorn & Kew
Strong genealogy resources.
Who are your clients/patrons?
General public. Anyone can come into the library. Our community is generally well-established and economically well-off, although there are some areas of disadvantage – particularly around parts of Hawthorn and Ashburton. The community is largely Anglo-Celtic, but with a growing Chinese segment. In Ashburton, there are some new immigrant communities from areas such as the Horn of Africa.

How do your clients/customers use your library and what services do you provide?
For borrowing, seeking information, reading newspapers and magazines, using internet, attending library provided activities: internet classes, storytime, school holiday activities, other special parent/child activities, book talks, author talks, various specific topic internet presentations, eg travel, e-bay.
