Information professionals are often employed in specialist libraries, such as those in the health, business and legal sectors.

Information professionals are often responsible for the management of the business archives, so they have an important role in knowledge management and the history of the business/organisation. Other key roles include the management of the corporate website, researching vital information, training staff  and managing the documents that their organisation uses daily.
